Concerned about detection of paraTB and bovine tuberculosis? See us at Dairy-Tech

Speed and accuracy is vital in the dairy industry so a simple, rapid and sensitive test for the bacteria that causes tuberculosis in livestock and in humans is of major interest.
DairyTech 2018

Actiphage® is a new diagnostic from PBD Biotech that provides a rapid, highly specific and sensitive assay for the cost-effective detection of live mycobacteria in blood, milk and other tissues.

Actiphage is the only method of testing for mycobacteria that accurately detects the presence of live bacteria in a sample.

Mycobacteria are the pathogens that cause bovine tuberculosis and paratuberculosis (Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis). These are diseases of livestock but can also be transmitted to humans through infected dairy products or close contact with cattle.

Assays are available either as standard laboratory tests (48 hours) or in a simple, single-day, sample-to-result format.

PBD Biotech specialises in novel phage-based diagnostics. It is based on the work of co-founders Dr Cath Rees and Dr Ben Swift following their breakthrough research at University of Nottingham.
